The Game That Takes Place on a Cruise Ship is a 2D point-and-click cartoon adventure game. The player controls Gertrude Zzyrgenhymer, a young, unemployed, blue-haired woman. The game starts when she wins a trip aboard the S.S. Asylum, a modern cruise ship.
